Dr. Bing Niu is an Associate Professor in the School of Life Science at Shanghai University, Shanghai, China. His research has focused upon the novel algorithms for bioinformatics techniques and drug design, and has led to authorship on over 50 scientific articles which have been cited more than 500. Currently, he is an editorial board member of Current Bioinformatics. He also served as a guest editor of Biomed Research International, current topics in medicinal chemistry and Current Pharmaceutical Design.

He obtained his PhD in Biochemistry from the School of Studies in Biochemistry, Jiwaji University, Gwalior in 2008.
